Romans 8:31-39
Verse of the Week
13 “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
~ Philippians 4:13

1) Thanks to Christ’s overcoming power in our lives, we don’t have to be ANXIOUS about anything.

  • I Peter 5:7 – “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.”
  • Philippians 4:6-7 – “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.  And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

2) Thanks to God’s supreme power and authority, we don’t need to FEAR anything.

  • Psalm 27:1 – “The Lord is my light and my salvation - whom shall I fear?  The Lord is the stronghold of my life – of whom shall I be afraid.”
  • 2 Timothy 1:7 – “For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and a sound mind.”

3) Thanks to the Lord, we can make it through any TRIAL.

  • James 1:2-4 – “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.  Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.”
  • James 1:12 – “Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.”

4) Thanks to Jesus, we have received his OVERCOMING spirit.

  • I John 5:4-5 – “…For everyone born of God overcomes the world.  This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.  Who is it that overcomes the world?  Only the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.”
  • Philippians 4:13 – “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
  • Romans 8:37-39 – “No in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.  For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
