The Last Days: Matthew 24
4 Jesus answered: “Watch out that no one deceives you. 5 For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Messiah,’ and will deceive many. 6 You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. 7 Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are the beginning of birth pains.
9 “Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me. 10 At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, 11 and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. 12 Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, 13 but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved. 14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.
36 “But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. 37 As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. 38 For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; 39 and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man.
Acts 2
“‘In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams. 18 Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days, and they will prophesy. 19 I will show wonders in the heavens above and signs on the earth below, blood and fire and billows of smoke. 20 The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and glorious day of the Lord. 21 And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.’”
II Thessalonians 2
Timothy 3
But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. 2 People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, 4 treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God — 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people.
II Peter 3
3 Above all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires. 4 They will say, “Where is this ‘coming’ he promised? Ever since our ancestors died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation.” 5 But they deliberately forget that long ago by God’s word the heavens came into being and the earth was formed out of water and by water. 6 By these waters also the world of that time was deluged and destroyed. 7 By the same word the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire, being kept for the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly. 8 But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. 9 The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.
What should we expect in the last days?
1) God will pour out his Spirit. - Acts 2
2) There will be traumatic stress on the earth. - Matthew 24
3) There will be climate change. - Matthew 24, II Peter 3
4) There will be great evil and stress in human relationships. - Matthew 24, II Timothy 3, II Peter 3
5) There will be a man of lawlessness (anti-Christ) revealed. - Matthew 24, II Thessalonians 2
6) There will be a falling away from the faith. - Matthew 24, II Thessalonians 2
How should we prepare for the last days?
Matthew 25
I. The Ten Virgins.
“At that time the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. 2 Five of them were foolish and five were wise. 3 The foolish ones took their lamps but did not take any oil with them. 4 The wise ones, however, took oil in jars along with their lamps. 5 The bridegroom was a long time in coming, and they all became drowsy and fell asleep.
6 “At midnight the cry rang out: ‘Here’s the bridegroom! Come out to meet him!’”
7 “Then all the virgins woke up and trimmed their lamps. 8 The foolish ones said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil; our lamps are going out.’” 9 “‘No,’ they replied, ‘there may not be enough for both us and you. Instead, go to those who sell oil and buy some for yourselves.’
10 “But while they were on their way to buy the oil, the bridegroom arrived. The virgins who were ready went in with him to the wedding banquet. And the door was shut.”
11 “Later the others also came. ‘Lord, Lord,’ they said, ‘open the door for us!’”
12 “But he replied, ‘Truly I tell you, I don’t know you.’”
13 “Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour.”
II. The Parable of the Bags of Gold.
14 “Again, it will be like a man going on a journey, who called his servants and entrusted his wealth to them. 15 To one he gave five bags of gold, to another two bags, and to another one bag, each according to his ability. Then he went on his journey. 16 The man who had received five bags of gold went at once and put his money to work and gained five bags more. 17 So also, the one with two bags of gold gained two more. 18 But the man who had received one bag went off, dug a hole in the ground and hid his master’s money.
19 “After a long time the master of those servants returned and settled accounts with them. 20 The man who had received five bags of gold brought the other five. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘you entrusted me with five bags of gold. See, I have gained five more.’ 21 “His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’ 22 “The man with two bags of gold also came. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘you entrusted me with two bags of gold; see, I have gained two more.’ 23 “His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’ 24 “Then the man who had received one bag of gold came. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘I knew that you are a hard man, harvesting where you have not sown and gathering where you have not scattered seed. 25 So I was afraid and went out and hid your gold in the ground. See, here is what belongs to you.’
26 “His master replied, ‘You wicked, lazy servant! So you knew that I harvest where I have not sown and gather where I have not scattered seed? 27 Well then, you should have put my money on deposit with the bankers, so that when I returned I would have received it back with interest. 28 “‘So take the bag of gold from him and give it to the one who has ten bags. 29 For whoever has will be given more, and they will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what they have will be taken from them. 30 And throw that worthless servant outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’”
III. The Sheep and the Goats.
31 “When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his glorious throne. 32 All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33 He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left. 34 “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. 35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’
37 “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’ 40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’
41 “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 42 For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, 43 I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.’ 44 “They also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?’ 45 “He will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’ 46 “Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.”

Los Ultimos Dias: Mateo 24
4 — Tengan cuidado de que nadie los engañe — les advirtió Jesús —. 5 Vendrán muchos que, usando mi nombre, dirán: “Yo soy el Cristo”, y engañarán a muchos. 6 Ustedes oirán de guerras y de rumores de guerras, pero procuren no alarmarse. Es necesario que eso suceda, pero no será todavía el fin. 7 Se levantará nación contra nación y reino contra reino. Habrá hambre y terremotos en diferentes lugares. 8 Todo esto será apenas el comienzo de los dolores.
9 Entonces los entregarán para que los persigan y los maten, y los odiarán todas las naciones por causa de mi nombre. 10 En aquel tiempo muchos se apartarán de la fe; unos a otros se traicionarán y se odiarán; 11 y surgirá un gran número de falsos profetas que engañarán a muchos. 12 Habrá tanta maldad que el amor de muchos se enfriará, 13 pero el que se mantenga firme hasta el fin será salvo. 14 Y este evangelio del reino se predicará en todo el mundo como testimonio a todas las naciones; entonces vendrá el fin.
36 Pero en cuanto al día y la hora, nadie lo sabe, ni siquiera los ángeles del cielo, ni el Hijo, sino solo el Padre. 37 La venida del Hijo del hombre será como en tiempos de Noé. 38 Porque en los días antes del diluvio comían, bebían, se casaban y daban en casamiento, hasta el día en que Noé entró en el arca; 39 y no supieron nada de lo que sucedería hasta que llegó el diluvio y se los llevó a todos. Así será en la venida del Hijo del hombre.
Hechos 2
17 “Sucederá que en los últimos días — dice Dios —, derramaré mi Espíritu sobre todo ser humano. los hijos y las hijas de ustedes profetizarán, tendrán visiones los jóvenes y sueños los ancianos. 18 En esos días derramaré mi Espíritu aun sobre mis siervos y mis siervas, y profetizarán. 19 Arriba en el cielo y abajo en la tierra mostraré prodigios: sangre, fuego y nubes de humo. 20 El sol se convertirá en tinieblas y la luna en sangre antes que llegue el día del Señor, día grande y esplendoroso. 21 Y todo el que invoque el nombre del Señor será salvo.”

Timoteo 3
Pero marca esto: va a ser un tiempo terrible en los ultimos dias: La gente estará llena de egoísmo y avaricia; serán jactanciosos, arrogantes, blasfemos, desobedientes a los padres, ingratos, impíos, 3 insensibles, implacables, calumniadores, libertinos, despiadados, enemigos de todo lo bueno, 4 traicioneros, impetuosos, vanidosos y más amigos del placer que de Dios. 5 Aparentarán ser devotos, pero su conducta desmentirá el poder de la devoción. ¡Con esa gente ni te metas!
II Pedro 3
3 Ante todo, deben saber que en los últimos días vendrá gente burlona que, siguiendo sus malos deseos, se mofará 4 y dirá: ¿Qué hubo de esa promesa de su venida? Nuestros antepasados murieron y nada ha cambiado desde el principio de la creación. 5 Pero intencionalmente olvidan que desde tiempos antiguos, por la palabra de Dios, existía el cielo y también la tierra, que surgió del agua y mediante el agua. 6 Por la palabra y el agua, el mundo de aquel entonces pereció inundado. 7 Y ahora, por esa misma palabra, el cielo y la tierra están guardados para el fuego, reservados para el día del juicio y de la destrucción de los impíos.8 Pero no olviden, queridos hermanos, que para el Señor un día es como mil años y mil años, como un día. 9 El Señor no tarda en cumplir su promesa, según entienden algunos la tardanza. Más bien, él tiene paciencia con ustedes, porque no quiere que nadie perezca, sino que todos se arrepientan.
Que debemos esperar en los ultimos dias?
1) Dios va a derramar su Espiritu. - Hechos 2
2) Va a haber estrés traumatico en la tierra. - Mateo 24
3) Va a haber cambio climatico. - Mateo 24, II Pedro 3
4) Va a haber mucho mal y estrés en las relaciones humanas. - Mateo 24, II Timoteo 3, II Pedro 3
5) Va a haber un hombre sin leyes (anti-Cristo) revelado. - Mateo 24, II Tesalonicenses 2
6) Va a haber un alejamiento de la fe. - Mateo 24, II Tesalonicenses 2
Como nos debemos de preparer para los ultimos dias?
Mateo 25
I. Las diez virgenes.
“El reino de los cielos será entonces como diez jóvenes solteras que tomaron sus lámparas y salieron a recibir al novio. 2 Cinco de ellas eran insensatas y cinco, prudentes. 3 Las insensatas llevaron sus lámparas, pero no se abastecieron de aceite. 4 En cambio, las prudentes llevaron vasijas de aceite junto con sus lámparas. 5 Y como el novio tardaba en llegar, a todas les dio sueño y se durmieron.
6 A medianoche se oyó un grito: “¡Ahí viene el novio! ¡Salgan a recibirlo!” 7 Entonces todas las jóvenes se despertaron y se pusieron a preparar sus lámparas. 8 Las insensatas dijeron a las prudentes: “Dennos un poco de su aceite porque nuestras lámparas se están apagando.” 9 “No — respondieron estas —, porque así no va a alcanzar ni para nosotras ni para ustedes. Es mejor que vayan a los que venden aceite y compren para ustedes mismas.”
10 Mientras iban a comprar el aceite, llegó el novio. Las jóvenes que estaban preparadas entraron con él al banquete de bodas. Y se cerró la puerta. 11 Después llegaron también las otras. “¡Señor, Señor — decían —, ábrenos!” 12 “¡Les aseguro que no las conozco!”, respondió él. 13 Por tanto — agregó Jesús —, manténganse despiertos porque no saben ni el día ni la hora.
II. La Parabola de las Monedas de Oro.
14 El reino de los cielos será también como un hombre que, al emprender un viaje, llamó a sus siervos y les encargó sus bienes. 15 A uno le dio cinco mil monedas; a otro, dos mil y a otro, mil. Dio a cada uno según su capacidad. Luego se fue de viaje. 16 El que había recibido las cinco mil fue enseguida y negoció con ellas y ganó otras cinco mil. 17 Así mismo, el que recibió dos mil ganó otras dos mil. 18 Pero el que había recibido mil fue, cavó un hoyo en la tierra y escondió el dinero de su señor.
19 Después de mucho tiempo, volvió el señor de aquellos siervos y arregló cuentas con ellos. 20 El que había recibido las cinco mil monedas llegó con las otras cinco mil. “Señor — dijo —, usted me encargó cinco mil monedas. Mire, he ganado otras cinco mil”. 21 Su señor respondió: “¡Hiciste bien, siervo bueno y fiel! En lo poco has sido fiel; te pondré a cargo de mucho más. ¡Ven a compartir la felicidad de tu señor!” 22 Llegó también el que recibió dos mil monedas. “Señor — informó —, usted me encargó dos mil monedas. Mire, he ganado otras dos mil.” 23 Su señor respondió: “¡Hiciste bien, siervo bueno y fiel! En lo poco has sido fiel; te pondré a cargo de mucho más. ¡Ven a compartir la felicidad de tu señor!”. 24 Después llegó el que había recibido mil monedas. “Señor — explicó —, yo sabía que usted es un hombre duro, que cosecha donde no ha sembrado y recoge donde no ha esparcido. 25 Así que tuve miedo y fui y escondí su dinero en la tierra. Mire, aquí tiene lo que es suyo.”
26 Pero su señor respondió: “¡Siervo malo y perezoso! ¿Así que sabías que cosecho donde no he sembrado y recojo donde no he esparcido? 27 Pues debías haber depositado mi dinero en el banco, para que a mi regreso lo hubiera recibido con intereses.” 28 Después ordenó: “Quítenle las mil monedas y dénselas al que tiene las diez mil. 29 Porque a todo el que tiene se le dará más y tendrá en abundancia. Al que no tiene hasta lo que tiene se le quitará. 30 Y a ese siervo inútil échenlo afuera, a la oscuridad, donde habrá llanto y crujir de dientes.”
III. Las Ovejas y las Cabras.
31 Cuando el Hijo del hombre venga en su gloria, con todos sus ángeles, se sentará en su trono glorioso. 32 Todas las naciones se reunirán delante de él, y él separará a unos de otros, como separa el pastor las ovejas de las cabras. 33 Pondrá las ovejas a su derecha, y las cabras a su izquierda. 34 Entonces dirá el Rey a los que estén a su derecha: “Vengan ustedes, a quienes mi Padre ha bendecido; reciban su herencia, el reino preparado para ustedes desde la creación del mundo. 35 Porque tuve hambre y ustedes me dieron de comer; tuve sed y me dieron de beber; fui forastero y me dieron alojamiento; 36 necesité ropa y me vistieron; estuve enfermo y me atendieron; estuve en la cárcel y me visitaron.”
37 Y le contestarán los justos: “Señor, ¿cuándo te vimos hambriento y te alimentamos o sediento y te dimos de beber? 38 ¿Cuándo te vimos como forastero y te dimos alojamiento o necesitado de ropa y te vestimos? 39 ¿Cuándo te vimos enfermo o en la cárcel y te visitamos?” 40 El Rey les responderá: “Les aseguro que todo lo que hicieron por uno de mis hermanos, aun por el más pequeño, lo hicieron por mí.”
41 Luego dirá a los que estén a su izquierda: “Apártense de mí, malditos, al fuego eterno preparado para el diablo y sus ángeles. 42 Porque tuve hambre y ustedes no me dieron nada de comer; tuve sed y no me dieron nada de beber; 43 fui forastero y no me dieron alojamiento; necesité ropa y no me vistieron; estuve enfermo y en la cárcel, y no me atendieron.” 44 Ellos también contestarán: “Señor, ¿cuándo te vimos hambriento o sediento, o como forastero, o necesitado de ropa, enfermo o en la cárcel y no te ayudamos?” 45 Él responderá: “Les aseguro que todo lo que no hicieron por el más pequeño de mis hermanos, tampoco lo hicieron por mí”. 46 Aquellos irán al castigo eterno y los justos a la vida eterna.
