Verse of the Week 14 “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”

~ Luke 2:14

 

1. When Jesus came to the Earth he brought peace to men.

  • Luke 2:14 – 14 “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”

  • John 16:33 – 33 “I have told you these things so that in me you may have peace.”

  • John 14:27 – 27 “Peace I leave with you.  My peace I give you.  Do not let your hearts be troubled.”


2. Jesus is the Prince of Peace.

  • Isaiah 9:6 – 6 “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders, And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.  Of the greatness of his government and peace there will be no end.”

  • Psalm 29:11 – 11 “The Lord gives strength to his people, the Lord blesses his people with peace.”

  • Isaiah 55:12 – 12 “You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace.” 

 

3. Thanks to Christ, we can have his peace at all times.

  • Colossians 3:15 – 15 “Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts since as members of one body you were called to peace.”

  • I Peter 3:11 – 11 “They must turn from evil and do good.  They must seek peace and pursue it.”

  • Philippians 4:7 – 7 “And the peace of God which transcends all understanding will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ.”

  • Isaiah 26:3 – 3 “You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.”

  • 2 Thessalonians 3:16 – 16 “Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way.  The Lord be with you.”

1. Cuando Jesus vino a la Tierra trajo la paz a los hombres.

  • Lucas 2:14 – 14 “Gloria a Dios en las alturas, y en la tierra paz a aquellos en quienes su favor descansa.”

  • Juan 16:33 – 33 “Os he dicho estas cosas para que en mí tengáis paz.”

  • Juan 14:27 – 27 “La paz os dejo.  Mi paz os doy.  No se turbe vuestro corazón.”

 

2. Jesús es el Príncipe de la Paz.

  • Isaías 9:6 – 6 “Porque un niño nos es nacido, hijo nos es dado, y el principado estará sobre sus hombros, y será llamado Admirable Consejero, Dios Fuerte, Padre Eterno, Príncipe de Paz.  La grandeza de su gobierno y la paz no tendrán fin.”

  • Salmo 29:11 – 11 “El Señor fortalece a su pueblo, el Señor bendice a su pueblo con paz.”

  • Isaías 55:12 – 12 “Saldréis con gozo y en paz seréis llevados.”

 

3. Gracias a Cristo podemos tener su paz en todo momento.

  • Colosenses 3:15 – 15 “Que la paz de Cristo gobierne en vuestros corazones, ya que como miembros de un solo cuerpo fuisteis llamados a la paz.”

  • 1 Pedro 3:11 – 11 “Deben apartarse del mal y hacer el bien.  Deben buscar la paz y perseguirla.”

  • Filipenses 4:7 – 7 “Y la paz de Dios, que sobrepasa todo entendimiento, guardará vuestros corazones y vuestros pensamientos en Cristo.”

  • Isaías 26:3 – 3 “Guardarás en completa paz a los de mente firme, porque en ti confían.”

  • 2 Tesalonicenses 3:16 – 16 “Y el mismo Señor de la paz os dé paz en todo tiempo y en todo.  El Señor esté con vosotros.”
